Delta del Po

A bicycle excursion at the most suggestive time of day with a visit to the Camillone Salt Mine followed by a tasting of typical products. A journey through the history of salt and the breathtaking beauty of nature.

We set off together from the Visitors' Centre and silently ride our bikes to the Camillone Salt Mine, an ancient salt mine where salt is still harvested by hand by salt miners using the methods and tools of the past. Next, we pedal along the new cycle path that runs through the heart of the Salina and amidst views of water and sky we reach the Locanda Acervum.

Along the way, equipped with binoculars and together with the environmental guides, we can admire the different animal species that populate this naturalistic oasis, and witness scenes of everyday life such as the care of the young or the defence of the nest. Along the new cycle path we make a few stops, climb up to the lookout tower to observe from above a unique panorama, which at sunset offers wonderful colours!

We continue our visit to the Locanda Acervum, where we are enveloped by the intense colours of the sunset painting the sky above the Salina. We savour every mouthful of local produce, a perfect combination of nature and culinary tradition, as the sun disappears over the horizon.

- Mixed cured meats of Mora Romagnola with sweet Cervia salt: Prosciutto Dolce Maggiore, coppa, pancetta, salami, dried sausage, mortadella
- Local cheeses with Sweet Salt of Cervia: Squacquerone, caciotta, pecorino
